Anthony Anderson Talks Return To Law & Order

Law & Order spoilers and updates tease that Anthony Anderson will reprise his role as Detective Kevin Bernard on the show. The actor explained his return 12 years after the show last aired.

The revival will feature many returning and new cast members. Fans may recall Anderson during the last few seasons of the show. He may not be one of the actors who have been with the series for a long time but he clearly enjoyed his time on the show.

Anderson appeared as Detective Bernard in 50 episodes from 2008 to 2010. He also appeared on Law & Order: SVU season 7, where he played Lucius Blaine, Detective Elliot Stabler’s (Christopher Meloni) temporary partner.

Law & Order  Spoilers – Anthony Anderson Wanted To Be Part of Law & Order Revival

The actor revealed that he wanted to be a part of the Law & Order revival. He approached Dick Wolf, the creator of the show.

“We were, you know, we were two weeks out from ending our show Black-ish. They made the announcement that Law & Order was coming back,” he said.

“So, I picked up the phone and called Dick Wolf up and said, ‘Hey Dick, is it true?’” he added.

When Wolf confirmed that it’s true, Anderson immediately said that he’s working as a free agent and that’s how it all started.

Wolf had no plans of changing things up with the show because he considers it just like “good old comfort food.” He said he doesn’t want to fix anything and just wants to “continue telling great stories.” In a previous interview, he added that the show will always feature three DAs and three cops.

Wolf wants to retain good writing, acting, and production values. He intends to follow their mantra since the show first aired and that is to give what viewers want

Law & Order Premier

Law & Order reboot aired on February 24, 2022. Some of the original cast returned including Sam Waterston as Jack McCoy and Camryn Manheim as Kate Dixon.

New faces were also introduced including Hugh Dancy as Nolan Price, Jeffrey Donovan as Frank Cosgrove, and Odelya Halevi as Samantha Maroun.

All these characters worked together to solve the murder of Henry King, who was accused of being a serial rapist. Some characters argued over policing methods but they were able to figure out who killed King. The confession of the murderer wasn’t admissible in court but the suspect was still found guilty.
