If you’re an avid fan of ‘Law & Order,’ take a deep breath and know that two worlds within the franchise will be colliding come April 17. Now I have only one question to ask: how far away is April 17 seeming to you right now?
Everything We Know About the Special ‘Law & Order’ Crossover Event
It’s going to be a ‘Law & Order’ world out there come April. Judging from the little we know so far, there are a bunch of criminals committing heinous crimes, and Captain Olivia Benson (portrayed by Mariska Hargitay) would first call for reinforcements than let them hurt one more victim.
Per NBC, the whole crossover event kicks off with Benson receiving a mysterious phone call that leads her to the scene of a murder.
Together, SVU and the 2-7 will “uncover a pattern of rape and murder targeting marginalized women,” the description reads, continuing to add that a lot of collaboration will be needed if our detectives are to successfully charge the suspects with multiple crimes.
The special crossover event will steal the timeslot of the procedural drama ‘Found,’ with ‘Found’ moving to Monday, April 14.
Happily, this is only a one-time disruption, which means that ‘Found’ can resume its regular timeslot the following week. Following the airing of the crossover event at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, ‘Organized Crime’ will premiere at 10 p.m. on the same network.
The series stars Christopher Meloni as Det. Elliot Stabler, Dean Norris as Randall Stabler, Danielle Moné Truitt as Ayanna Bell, Rick Gonzalez as Bobby Reyes and Ainsley Seiger as Jet Slootmaekers.
What NBC Has Said About ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’
NBC has so far teased that the fifth season of the show will test Stabler’s will as his “worlds collide” and he’s forced to “put everything on the line to protect the vulnerable and fight for justice.”
To prove this, the teaser has us listen to a cryptic voice-over of Christopher Meloni’s Stabler, as scenes from the past shows flash onscreen.
“The pain. The things I’ve seen,” he says, “all in the pursuit of one thing: Justice. This fight has only just begun.”
