Law & Order: Organized Crime Spoilers – It Is Unsure How Many Episodes Have Been Filmed

It is unsure how many episodes have already been filmed or how the pause in the production schedule will affect the show. Showrunners have not released any information as to who tested positive for Covid-19 in particular and no information has been released other than someone among the cast or crew had a positive Covid test. In accordance with industry protocols, state and county safety guidelines and the NBCU Production Playbook, which is basically a book of rules NBC-Universal has put together for safe production and filming, work on filming has been suspended.

Those in close contact with the person who tested positive have been asked to self-isolate and quarantine, and contact tracing has been initiated, according to NBC sources. It is not sure how long the production shutdown will last, although the show is not subject to the California guidelines since it is filmed in New York City. The show had also briefly paused production after another positive Covid-19 test in February, so this also may be only a short period.

Temporary production shutdowns have become a necessary part of doing business while filming during the pandemic. All studios in Hollywood had adapted rigorous protocols and procedures last year, that have proven effective, and the New York City production facilities likely model their guidelines. The shutdowns have not affected the premiere of the new spinoff, it will still premiere April 1 at 10:00 pm. As has become the norm during the pandemic also, its first season may be a short one because of the production shutdowns.

Law & Order: Organized Crime Spoilers – The Show Will Go On

According to IMDb, the Internet Movie Database, there have been thirteen episodes planned so far for the new show, although it is not sure whether the thirteen have been filmed or not. The first two are called “What Happens In Puglia” which is the premiere and airs on April 1, and the second is called “Not Your Father’s Organized Crime” and it airs on April 8.

The rest of the episodes and their synopses, or descriptions, have not yet been filled in yet. The remaining episode air dates have not been filled in yet either, so they could skip around as primetime shows have been known to do to allow for sporting events, holiday programming, etcetera. By contrast, Law & Order: SVU shows thirteen episodes for 2021 also, with one logged in for 2022 for the next new season, season twenty-three starting in January 2022 so both shows may have shorter than usual seasons but that has been normal for shows filmed since 2020. That being said, SVU’s season twenty-two will end the same time that Law & Order: Organized Crime’s season one will, so we can infer that the production shutdowns may not impact either program substantially.
