Law & Order SVU: Ice-T Reveals Reason Fin Is Missing From ShowLaw & Order SVU kicked off Season 25 on NBC this fall, so far eight new episodes of the popular legal drama have aired. 

In January the show will return from their holiday hiatus, but longtime fans have noticed a familiar face missing from the action.  Is Ice-T still playing the part of fan fave Fin?  Keep reading to find out!  

Since Season 25 of Law & Order SVU began airing this fall, fans have been thrilled to have Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish) back on the show. 

But, the fan fave’s return came at a hefty price.  If you have been tuning in to see Rollins back in action, then you probably have noticed that you have seen a lot less of Ice-T’s character Sgt. Odafin “Fin” Tutuola.  

Law & Order SVU: Is Fin Leaving

The web has been buzzing with rumors that Ice-T was on his way out and will be the next character to exit from Law & Order. 

Ice-T set the record straight recently and explained in an interview that he had to sit back this season to make room for fan fave Rollins’ return to the cast. 

The Fin portrayer revealed, “It’s just basically business. They brought Kelli back, and at the end of the day, they couldn’t really keep both of us on full-time, as far as budget-wise.  So they said, ‘Ice, we’ll have you come in and out this year. That way we could bring…’ Everybody wanted Kelli back, and we’ve got new cops and stuff like that.”

Ice-T Talks Future On Law & Order

The Law & Order fan fave went on to reassure viewers that his character would be sticking around for the foreseeable future.  Ice-T added in his TMZ interview, “This year, they said, ‘Ice, we’re going to work you a little less.’ Everything was cool with me. I understood. I said, ‘You’re getting rid of me?’ They said, ‘No way. We can’t imagine Law & Order without you.”

Law & Order is currently on hiatus for the holidays, but the legal drama will return to NBC with all new episodes on Thursday January 8.  Are you happy Rollins is back, or would you rather have more of Fin on SVU?
