Kelli Giddish was a key player on Law & Order SVU for over a decade, she made her debut as Amanda Rollins back in 2011. In 2023 it was revealed that the actress would be stepping down as a series regular, in lieu of giving birth to her third child in real life.
Kelli Giddish – Returns To Law & Order
Of course, if you are an avid Law & Order fan, then you know that all of Giddish’s real life pregnancies have been written in to the show. Rollins and Carisi welcomed their new born baby in the Season 24 finale.
Per TV Line, “When she first returned for SVU‘s Season 24 finale, as part of a season-ending crossover between SVU and Organized Crime, Rollins was pregnant with her third child — her first with her new husband, Assistant District Attorney Dominick “Sonny” Carisi. During the episode, we learned that Rollins was teaching criminal behavior at Fordham University… and that she was very bored since leaving the squad.”
What Brings Rollins Back To SVU
We know that Rollins is no longer a detective, and is now teaching at Fordham University. The last time she returned to Law & Order, she was working as a consultant on a case with Elliott Stabler. It’s unclear what is bringing her back for the final episodes of Season 25.
She could be on hand to support her man Carisi, or she could be consulting on another case. It’s unlikely she’s returning to the force, but we can always hope!
