Law & Order Special Victims Unit spoilers and updates tease that Ice-T (Sergeant Odafin “Fin” Tutuola) could wind up leaving the show due to a smaller role. Let’s see what the star himself has to say about the possibility.
The NBC Procedural Has Been On The Air For Twenty-Seven Seasons
Law & Order: SVU has been a must-see show for 27 seasons;Mariska Hargitay (Olivia Benson) is the only cast member remaining from the beginning.
The crime drama has seen various casting changes in recent years as the writers search for the right chemistry-Kelli Giddish came back as Detective Amanda Rollins after significant fan backlash.
Octavio Pisano (Detective Joe Velasco) and Juliana Aidén Martinez (Detective Kate Silva) departed after Season 26.
Molly Burnett (Detective Grace Muncy) left in 2023 after just one season on the series. Corey Cott (Detective Jake Griffin), Aimé Donna Kelly (Captain Renee Curry), and Kevin Kane (Detective Terry Bruno) were all elevated to series regulars before Season 27.
Fans Have Seen Less Of Fin This Season
Ice-T and Peter Scanavino still play Sergeant Odafin “Fin” Tutuola and A.D.A. Dominick “Sonny” Carisi Jr. However, fans have noticed less of “Fin” this season, raising worries that the actor might be leaving-keep reading to learn what Ice-T said about the speculation.
Rapper Ice-T joined SVU in Season 2 but viewers have hardly seen him in Season 27; his character was injured early in the season and was on medical leave.
“Fin” thought about retirement, which fueled rumors that the actor was exiting the show, and Ice-T appeared on Sherri Shepherd’s talk show to clarify the rumors.
He expressed concern that the show was writing him off after “Fin” ended up in the hospital; “I’m ready for the ride,” he stated about his desire to remain on SVU.
Ice-T Is Aiming For At Least Three More Seasons
“I’m aiming for Seasons 28, 29, and 30,” he mentioned-his smaller part in the crime drama has allowed him more time for other projects.
The rapper intends to drop his first album in decades, titled Criminal Migraine. Additionally, he has launched a daily podcast featuring motivational quotes, called Ice-T’s Daily Game.
“Each day, I share something known as an ice-cold fact or a daily game,” he explained regarding the podcast. Law & Order: SVU has experienced significant cast changes in recent years, but Ice-T hopes to remain for as long as he can.
NBC Hasn’t Officially Confirmed Additional Seasons
NBC hasn’t officially confirmed the show for Season 28, but it seems probable; “I believe that show will continue as long as Mariska is willing to do it,” he forecasted. Longtime viewers are still looking for resolution on Benson and Elliot Stabler’s (Christopher Meloni) relationship.
The series has been hinting at their romantic involvement for years. Christopher Meloni returned to portray Elliot Stabler in 2021 for Law & Order: Organized Crime; the spinoff departed NBC after four seasons and is now available exclusively on Peacock.
Fans are still awaiting news on whether it will come back for Season 6; hopefully, the network will soon announce the future of the various Law & Order franchise shows.
