Dexter, our favorite serial killer, is set to return in a new spinoff dubbed Resurrection and even more.
These days, many popular series are getting a reboot and this includes the Michael C. Hall show, Dexter. Moreover, Hall shared at Comic-Con what viewers can expect with new entries in the Dexter universe.
Michael C. Hall returns as Dexter
Popular actor Michael C. Hall is reprising his role as Dexter in a new spinoff, titled Resurrection. He went on to tell viewers what they can expect from the latest in the serial killer’s universe. In the upcoming prequel series, viewers are taken back to Miami in the early 90s, as Dexter gets his start.
However, while there is interest about the Original Sin prequel, there is also a lot of backlash from Dexter fans. The way they see things, no one can replace Dexter Morgan besides Michael C. Hall, the original star.
Another Dexter show announced at Comic-Con
While fans are excited about the prequel, they can now look forward to Dexter: Resurrection, where Hall reprises his character. Meanwhile, the new show will pick up right where New Blood left off.
In an interview with Variety, Hall said his decision to reprise his role as Dexter Morgan wasn’t a choice he made “lightly.” The actor said that, over the course of several conversations, everyone felt there was “more to explore.”
Meanwhile, Hall said how surprised everyone is about the amount of interest that remains on in his character, Dexter, adding “how fertile the soil remains.”
Fans will recall that the finale of New Blood saw Dexter bleeding out in the snow. Many believed his character was dead for good. However, after the announcement of the Dexter universe, this is clearly not the case at all. It might have been thought that it was the best way to close the series, but, of course, fans didn’t want to accept this.
