NCIS Hawaii: Vanessa Lachey NCIS spoilers tease that now that NCIS: Hawaii has officially been picked up at CBS as the newest spinoff in the NCIS world, we now know that the first character to be cast on NCIS: Hawaii is Special Agent in Charge of NCIS: Pearl, and she’ll be played by Vanessa Lachey.

NCIS: Hawaii Spoilers – Who Is Vanessa Lachey And Who Is Jane Tennant?

Television viewers may recognize Vanessa from her previous television stints on “BH90210” and “Call Me Kat”. The description for the character she will play, Special Agent in Charge of NCIS: Pearl Jane Tennant is that she will be a keen investigator, and she will be as comfortable navigating a crime scene as she is running her single-person household. She will occasionally feel torn between her family and her career, however as many mothers do. Special Agent in Charge of NCIS: Pearl Jane Tennant will also navigate inter-bureau politics in addition to more than likely settling sibling squabbles at home!

This will be the first time in the history of the NCIS franchise that a team on an NCIS spinoff will be led by a woman, although other teams working with an NCIS team have sometimes had female leaders. All of the NCIS shows have had either female as directors or holding other important positions in offices, but this will be the first female leader of an NCIS unit out in the field.

NCIS viewers will recall that the other shows have had Mark Harmon as Special Agent in Charge of NCIS Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Chris O’Donnell, and LL Cool J as Special Agent in Charge of NCIS: Los Angeles Grisha “G” Callen and Sam Hanna, and in the soon to end NCIS: New Orleans Scott Bakula as Special Agent in Charge of NCIS: New Orleans Dwayne Pride. One potential spinoff which didn’t make it to television, NCIS: Red would have had a man and woman team as leads, played by John Corbett and Kim Raver.
