Avid viewers know that the latest season just ended on May 23. During the season finale, Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) got kidnapped while Eric Beale (Barrett Foa) and Nell Jones (Renee Felice Smith) have left the show. Fans felt sad to see two of their beloved characters say goodbye but they’re also excited to see more of Gerald McRaney as Admiral Hollis Kilbride join the team permanently.
Fans may recall Killbride in previous episodes. His character was introduced a few times throughout the series. But in the upcoming season, he’ll be joining the show as a regular cast member.
Executive Producer R. Scott Gemmill said, “When you have an actor of Gerald McRaney’s caliber, you do everything you can to make sure you get him as often as possible.”
He revealed that Killbride has been with the show for seven years and they’re excited to bring him to the fold permanently.
Not much is known about the upcoming season except that it’s scheduled to premiere in early 2022. Filming for the 13th season is still underway that’s why no trailer has been released yet.
