NCIS Spoilers – Gary Cole Joins NCIS Cast As Series Regular
Rumors have been going around that CBS is in talks to bring Gary Cole into the TV series. Now, it’s finally confirmed that the actor will be joining NCIS season 19 as a regular cast member. But Cole’s addition to the TV series doesn’t mean he’s replacing Mark Harmon, the lead actor, who plays the role of Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs.

It’s been reported that Harmon will be appearing on the show in a very limited capacity starting season 19 but Cole will not be replacing him. The network has not confirmed nor denied these reports. But according to TVLine, an insider revealed that Harmon’s number of appearances next season will be “in the low single digits.” Another source said, he will make only “a few” appearances throughout the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, Katrina Law, who was introduced as Special Agent Jessica Knight in the last two episodes of Season 18 will return in a regular capacity in season 19. Knight is an agent from the Regional Enforcement Action Capabilities Training Team (REACT) who specializes in hostage negotiations and high-risk operations.
Law’s promotion follows Emily Wickersham’s exit from the show after eight seasons. Wickersham’s character, Emily Bishop, left NCIS as a disgraced agent and has gone undercover on a covert operation in the season 18 finale.

NCIS showrunner Steven D. Binder said, “We haven’t shot a single frame quite yet, but with the addition of Gary Cole and Katrina Law to the cast, this is already shaping up to be one of the best seasons yet.”

He said everyone is excited to have new characters and stories to tell starting season 19. The new additions will help “re-energize” the show that viewers have come to love.
Sean Murray, Wilmer Valderrama, Brian Dietzen, Diona Reasonover, Rocky Carroll and David McCallum will all return for season 19.
