NCIS spoilers tease that the NCIS: Hawaii, or NCIS: Pearl rumor mill is having a field day with whether the new NCIS spinoff will have a female lead and who it might be. The NCIS powers that be haven’t decided on a name for the spinoff, although either NCIS: Hawaii or NCIS: Pearl – for “Pearl Harbor” of course are in the running. The character name for the female lead has been rumored to be “Jane Tennant” but could Alex Quinn (Jennifer Esposito) be in the running as well?
NCIS Spoilers – CBS Is Close To A Decision On Spinoff
It was actually revealed in February 2021 that CBS was close to a decision on ordering the new NCIS spinoff. Two different reports confirmed there would be an NCIS spinoff based in Hawaii shortly after the announcement of NCIS: New Orleans’ cancellation.
Fan theories have been rampant as to whom may be part of the cast for the new show, and among them is Jennifer Esposito as Alex Quinn. Renewal of the flagship program for the franchise, NCIS has not been announced either as of yet, but part of that delay is likely due to the coronavirus pandemic having thrown everything off in the entertainment and television production world, delaying pretty much anything and everything related to movie and television producing and filming.
The 2020-2021 broadcast television season will likely go down in history as the most erratic. The working title seems to be NCIS: Hawaii, although TV Line had a report that the new team may be known as NCIS: Pearl, although the show itself may be as well.
The filming would take place on the island of Oahu, where Pearl Harbor is located. Right now, as far as CBS is concerned, the whole concept is in the early pilot stage, and insider leaks say the search is on for a director and writers for the pilot episode. Rumors say that unlike NCIS itself, whose pilot was an episode of JAG, this new NCIS spinoff may have its own standalone pilot episode as opposed to being introduced as an episode of either NCIS or NCIS: LA or NCIS: NOLA.
NCIS Spoilers – The Show Is Said To Be Considering A Female Lead Character, “Jane Tennant”
Rumors and possibly insider leaks say the show is considering a female lead character to be named Jane Tennant, although that name could simply be a working title name with the character’s actual name to be announced at a later time. If this is true, then this would be the first NCIS with a female leading the team. NCIS has Mark Harmon as Special Agent in Charge Leroy Jethro Gibbs, NCIS: Los Angeles has Chris O’Donnell as Grisha “G” Callen, and Scott Bakula as Dwayne Pride led all seven seasons of NCIS: New Orleans.
All of the NCIS programs have had female directors at one time or another, however. NCIS had Jenny Shepard, played by Lauren Holly, NCIS: Los Angeles is under Henrietta “Hetty” Lange, played by Linda Hunt, and NCIS: New Orleans currently has Hannah Khoury played by Necar Zadegan. Technically she is not over Pride but did take his place when he was receiving treatment after he took three bullets to the chest.
NCIS: Hawaii Spoilers: Ziva David And Tony DiNozzo Part Of The NCIS: Hawaii Team? #NCIS #NCISHawaiihttps://t.co/Ci6mdJHy9I

Alex Quinn joined the show at the same time as Nick Torres, played by Wilmer Valderrama. However, Alex didn’t stay very long. She was only part of the team for two seasons, then left to look after her sick mother. Fans would ship Alex Quinn as opposed to a new actress playing Jane Tennant, although Jennifer was on so long ago fans would probably not have a problem with her playing a character with a different name.
Another female from NCIS that fans are hoping might be the female lead is Cote De Pablo, who played Ziva David. They may not get Tony DiNozzo with her, since Michael Weatherly’s show “Bull” is still filming, but fans have been running a strong campaign on social media to bring Ziva and Tony back together, especially since they share a little girl. Since everything is still in the planning stages, it’s not out of the realm of possibility.
