NCIS Spoilers: Mark Harmon Fate Teased In Season 19 Premiere Photos

NCIS - Mark HarmonNCIS spoilers and updates tease that new photos revealed that Mark Harmon will be involved in the show’s season 19 premiere. The show is scheduled to return this fall and fans are eager to know what to expect in the coming season.

NCIS writer and producer Christopher J. Waild shared photos on Twitter that may be tied to Harmon’s character. The first photo was of a speedometer and odometer that reads 192,686. Nobody knows what it means but it could probably be linked to Gibb’s truck. The second photo looks like the lake where Gibb’s boat exploded during the final scenes of season 18.

Mark Harmon Takes Reduced Role

Viewers already know that Harmon is stepping back and taking a reduced role as Leroy Jethro Gibbs in season 19. The show didn’t specify how many episodes the actor will appear on but recently released photos tease that he may be part of the first episode.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Harmon signed a one-year deal, which means he’ll still appear on season 19 but in a limited capacity. Back in February, there were speculations that the actor was ready to leave the show after being part of it since its debut in 2003.

CBS threatened to cancel the flagship series if Harmon left so the star and executive producer of the show reportedly began conversations with the network and studio to come up with a deal that would save the series.

The one-year deal that Harmon reportedly signed, was similar to the deal OG David McCallum got when he played Dr. Ducky Mallard a few years ago. Aside from Harmon having a limited role in the show, fans also had to say goodbye to Emily Wickersham who played Bishop, and Maria Bello as Slone in season 18.

Two New Faces Join NCIS

As Harmon gets reduced air time, fans will see two new characters once the new season airs this coming September. Katrina Law of Hawaii Five-O appeared in the final episode of season 18. The actress was bumped up as a series regular. Gary Cole will also join the cast of the show but it’s been made clear that he won’t be replacing Harmon’s Gibbs.

Executive producer Steven D. Binder said, “With the addition of Gary Cole and Katrina Law to the cast, this is already shaping up to be one of the best seasons yet.”

“Going into season 19, we are excited to have new characters and stories to tell that adds to and re-energizes the world we’ve come to love over the 400-plus episodes,” he added.
