NCIS: Sydney fans who are anxiously anticipating the show’s comeback will have to wait a bit longer. The Season 2 debut, which was originally scheduled for Friday, January 31 at 8 p.m. ET, has been postponed by one week, according to CBS.
This choice enables the network to use the time slot originally set aside for the spinoff to broadcast a soon-to-be-unveiled special.
Despite the delay, other popular CBS shows like Fire Country and S.W.A.T. will stick to their schedules, airing new episodes at 9 p.m. ET and 10 p.m. ET, respectively.
Interestingly, S.W.A.T. has taken over the slot previously occupied by Blue Bloods, while NCIS: Sydney will now settle into S.W.A.T.’s former time.
NCIS Spoilers – What To Expect In Season 2
NCIS: Sydney, which debuted in the U.S. on November 14, 2023, after a November 10 premiere on Paramount+ Australia, has captivated audiences with its unique blend of Naval crimes and Australian charm.
The show, led by stars Olivia Swann, Todd Lasance, Sean Sagar, Tuuli Narkle, Mavournee Hazel, and William McInnes, follows the collaborative efforts of NCIS agents and Australian Federal Police officers tackling high-stakes cases Down Under.
Season 1 concluded in January 2024 with a gripping two-part finale. The storyline revolved around the kidnapping of JD’s son, a nerve-wracking rescue mission, and a shocking twist involving the Department of Defense’s Rankin, whose phone was linked to the crime.
As Season 2 picks up, the premiere episode, aptly titled “Heart Starter,” will delve into the pursuit of a rogue assassin on the loose during NCIS Special Agent DeShawn Jackson’s tumultuous first day as team leader. This season also promises to expand on the larger, ominous threat hinted at in the finale.
NCIS – Viewing Options and Anticipation
Although NCIS: Sydney fans have to wait a bit longer, the flagship NCIS series and NCIS: Origins remain on schedule to return from their hiatuses on Monday, January 27.
For those eager to catch up or revisit the action, the Season 2 premiere will stream live and on-demand on Paramount+ for subscribers with SHOWTIME, and will be available the next day for Paramount+ Essential subscribers.
The slight delay provides an excellent opportunity for viewers to revisit the first season or familiarize themselves with the gripping storylines.
