How Will NCIS Season 19 Begin?

NCIS spoilers and updates tease that fans are wondering how the show will start once its newest season hits the screen. Viewers may still be wondering about Matt Harmon’s involvement in season 19 but at least they have an idea about the show’s plot details.

NCIS Season 19 – Season 18 Brief Recap (Spoilers Ahead)

Fans may recall that Director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) suspended Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) after beating an animal abuser and member of a dogfighting ring. He may be on break, but Gibbs has no plans of sitting around. He sought out journalist Marcie Warren (Pam Dawber) and they started to work together totrack down a serial killer in the city.

Later on, NCIS viewers saw Gibbs take out his Rule 91 boat on the river. Shortly after, the boat exploded and fortunately, Gibbs was seen alive and swimming away from the wreckage. Season 18 ended without any clue as to who was behind the explosion and it seems the first episode of the upcoming season 19 will address these concerns.

The synopsis of the pilot episode of season 19 reads, “As the NCIS team searches for Gibbs after wreckage from his boat is discovered, they find out he was tracking a serial killer with journalist Marcie Warren, who wrote an exposé on him.”

The question now is if Gibbs is somewhere laying low or if he’s already started hunting his killer on his own. Given the news that Harmon will be reprising his role in a limited capacity, there’s a possibility that his alter ego won’t be seen that much when the new season starts.

Harmon renewed his contract with the show for another season even though he was reportedly ready to leave the show. However, as part of the contract, the actor will appear in fewer episodes, unlike the previous seasons.

NCIS Season 19 Spoilers – Returning Cast Members

NCIS season 19 is scheduled to premiere on Monday, September 20. Aside from Harmon, the other regular cast members that will return for the upcoming season are Sean Murray as NCIS Special Agent Timothy McGee, Wilmer Valderrama as NCIS Special Agent Nicholas “Nick” Torres, Brian Dietzen as Medical Examiner Jimmy Palmer, Diona Reasonover as Forensic Scientist Kasie Hines, Katrina Law as NCIS Special Agent Jessica Knight, and Rocky Carroll as NCIS Director Leon Vance.
