On Monday’s episode, Parker and his team were tasked to investigate the commander’s death who leads the All-Navy Sports Program. Gary Cole shared his thoughts about his role in NCIS in his latest interview with TV Insider.

Cole revealed that Parker’s job description is to get comfortable whatever it takes, so he took the challenge and he’s doing his best to not be a duplicate to the former team leader, Gibbs (Mark Harmon), as the writers made that distinction.

When asked if his character Alden Parker has skeletons in his closet, the 65-year-old actor teased: “There’s a situation that did not go according to plan, and something tragic happened. He’s purposely kind of an enigma.”

When asked how Parker would make the job as a team leader of his own after Leroy Gibbs’ legacy, Cole answered: “Parker isn’t overly chatty, but he is more verbal. He’s not as old school; he tries to get his hands on new tech gadgets and impress everybody.”

“He’s trying to fit in with the rest of the team. Although he may be reluctant to voice it, he admires that Gibbs breaks rules. Parker bends them. We’ll see if it gets to the point of breaking,” he added.

Cole’s character as Alden Parker is still working to get the heart of the team since he became the team leader. Nicholas Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) continues to resist him, and the intelligent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) shows uncertainty at first but eventually takes part with Parker, while Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen) and Kasie Hines (Diona Reasonover) always work together, for they are both scientific.

Gary Cole also mentioned the difference between his personality and Alden Parker. He shared he hates technology, and he doesn’t even have a social media account, but there’s somebody on Facebook who’s bringing his name.
