NCIS Spoilers: Who Will Return This Season?

NCISNCIS spoilers revealed after playing as Agent Leroy Gibbs for 19 great seasons, Mark Harmon took a break from the CBS drama, and familiar faces are returning on screen as regular casts following his exit to fill in the gap.

Harmon’s exit was not in death but a decision of staying in Alaska after being sent there together with his team to find a contract killer who was hired by a local company. After their task, Gibbs told his partner and NCIS director, Vance (Rocky Caroll) that he would love to stay in Alaska after acquiring a “sense of peace.”

Mark Harmon began playing his iconic role in 2003 when he starred in a two-part episode of “JAG” that served as the “NCIS” backdoor pilot. He planned to leave the show on Season 18 but stayed and do a few episodes in Season 19 the moment he learned CBS will cancel the show without him.

Now that Harmon has left the show, CBS has brought in “Veep” actor Gary Cole into the action series as a regular and his FBI Special Agent Alden Park as the latest member to the team, Variety previously confirmed this in June.

Aside from Cole, who came back as a new regular cast member, the show’s Special Agent Jessica Knight, Katrina Law, was also promoted to a full-time star. Her character has been made known in Season 18.

‘NCIS’  Spoilers – Mark Harmon Remains ‘NCIS’ Producer Despite Leaving the Show

Mark Harmon’s iconic role as Agent Leroy Gibbs has waved goodbye to the show after his character decided to quit law enforcement and stay in Alaska for good.

His exit didn’t surprise the viewers because of the hints Harmon showed. Though, the showrunner Steven D. Binder stated that even if Gibbs is out from the team and enjoying the world, the show will still welcome him if he thinks about returning.

“As an executive producer and dear friend, Mark continues to be an integral part of the fabric of the show,” Binder told The Hollywood Reporter.

He hailed Mark as the “north star” of the show who’s always true to all the characters and never ceases to guide the stories they tell as well as where the other characters go.

The showrunner reminded their avid viewers to never lose support for Mark’s character. “So regarding the future of Gibbs, as long-time fans of the show may have noticed over the years… never count Leroy Jethro Gibbs out,” Binder added.
