When Little House On The Prairie finally jumped on the reboot train, former fans of the iconic TV show were thrilled.  With Netflix at the helm, we know they will do the wild west and the Ingalls Family justice. 

The adaptation of the original 1970’s series is finally set to premiere this summer.  Keep reading for all the details!

Little House On The Prairie Premiere Date

Netflix confirmed earlier this year that the Little House On The Prairie reboot will premiere this summer on July 9, 2026. 

The first season will be eight full episodes and they’re expected to drop at one time.  The streaming app knows that they have another hit on their hands, and they have already renewed the reboot for a second season.

Per Deadline, “The series is described as part hopeful family drama, part epic survival tale, and part origin story of the American West offering a kaleidoscopic view of the struggles and triumphs of those who shaped the frontier.”

Of course, Netflix will put their own spin on Little House On The Prairie.  But, over all the reboot is believed to follow the original NBC series pretty closely. 

The original show was based on the popular series of books by Laura Ingalls-Wilder.

Little House On The Prairie Cast On Netflix

So far the Netflix reboot has a pretty impressive cast lined up. 

Laura Ingalls-Wilder will be played by Alice Halsey, whom you might recognize from Days of Our Lives or the Disney series Kindergarten Musical.

The rest of the cast includes, Skywalker Hughes as Mary, Luke Bracey as Charles Ingalls, and Crosby Fitzgerald as Caroline Ingalls. 

News broke this week that Willa Dunn also joined the cast as Nellie Olesen, but she won’t appear in season one and will be introduced when the show returns for the second season.
