Stranger Things News – When Will Netflix Release Stranger Things Season 4?
Back in the dark ages, on September 30. 2019, Netflix confirmed that they were renewing Stranger Things for a fourth season. The video announcement declared, “We’re not in Hawkins anymore.” Although there was a lot of hope that the series would drop in 2021, world events in 2020 prevented that.
Although they did start filming in February 2020, things got shut down pretty fast. Netflix had shut its studios for many months in the spring of 2020 due to the worldwide pandemic.
However, by October 2020, the cast started filming. They even started to film in New Mexico, the site of the Byers’ new home. Then they moved the production east.
Stranger Things News – When Will Stranger Things Season 4 Drop?
After many delays, they finally finished filming Stranger Things Season 4. So, when will Netflix finally drop the series? According to a fan Q&A with Noah Schnapp and David Harbour, a fan asked that very question. Noah’s answer was a bit vague, but he seemed to hint at the earliest and most realistic time that the show could be ready.
“We’re gonna be done in like, September. So hopefully, end of the year, maybe January next year sometime.”
Schnapp was right. They did complete filming in September. However, it does not appear to be dropping before 2022. Could his January prediction be correct? Netflix has not made an official statement, although there are rumors that it could be dropped in August 2022.
What we do know is that there are going to be at least eight episodes in the upcoming season. However, clever fans have noticed that there were nine scripts in the Writer’s Room social media.
The Stranger Things writers have given fans one gift, and that is the name of the first episode. It is called “Chapter One: The Hellfire Club.” For those not in the know, The Hellfire Club is not a Regency-era rogue’s club, but instead, the Hawkins High D&D club.
Stranger Things News – What Do We Know About Season 4 Storyline?
Right now, it appears that Stranger Things Season 4 is fairly set in the 1980s. Some predict it will be set in 1986 or 1987. Again, clever fans have noticed that the casting call requested vehicles that were “1987 and older.” That means that the series would not start any earlier than the fall of 1986 when the 1987 models would become available to buy.
In addition, there are theories, thanks to David Harbour’s Instagram, that Prisoner Hopper could make his way into the Upside Down. Maybe in Season 4?
