Sanditon Spoilers: Theo James Won’t Be Back

PBS recently announced that it has renewed Sanditon for two new seasons. Fans of the show were very excited that the channel reversed its previous decision about not renewing the show for another season. Now, fans can look forward to not one but two new seasons of Sanditon.

The pilot season of Sanditon, which is based on Jane Austen’s last and unfinished novel, etched itself in the heart of viewers. However, a piece of sad news tinted the excitement over the renewal.

PBS Announces Theo James’s Exit From Sanditon

Theo James, who plays the role of Sidney Parker, revealed that he would not return for the renewed seasons. The actor said he is happy with the way Sidney’s story ended in the pilot season and has no wish to damage the memories. PBS shared the news with fans on Twitter. As expected, lovers of Sanditon were quite disappointed with the news of Theo James’s exit from the show. Many viewers left comments about how shocked and disappointed they were that Theo James chose to exit the show just after the renewal.

In the Twitter post, PBS shared an image containing a statement from Theo James. The actor said he wished to keep the “broken fairy-tale-like ending” between his character, Sidney Parker, and the heroine of the show “Charlotte.” The actor also wished the crew and cast of Sanditon a great show. However, PBS assured fans that Charlotte’s adventure will continue in the next two seasons along with ” an abundance of romance.”

What Can Fans Expect From The New Sanditon Seasons?

Apart from the news about Theo’s exit, PBS has not announced the casting for the new seasons. But from the channel’s statement, Rose Williams will return as the heroine of the show. The channel has, however, assured fans that they still have so much to look forward to despite the exit of Sidney Parker. The producers won’t be saying much about plans for the new seasons to keep fans anticipatory. Still, we hope there will be tiny bits of information in the coming weeks to keep the expectation fresh until the seasons start to air. As PBS has promised, fans are looking forward to a lot of adventure and romance even though we are not certain about its source.

When Will PBS Air The New Sanditon Seasons?

Fans might have to wait for a long time before they can watch new episodes of Sanditon. We are talking about 2022 since PBS only just renewed the show for its second and third seasons. In the meantime, fans can look forward to more information about casting for the seasons.

We are all looking forward to having most of the old cast back. Overall, the renewal is very favorable for viewers who were quite disappointed when PBS announced that it was canceling the show.
