“We didn’t really discuss that because we don’t see that April is gone in the same way, in the sense that we know April’s OK”, Frolov said.

Chicago Med Spoilers – Did April Sexton Leave Chicago Med For Good?

Viewers may recall that April left her position at the ED after getting accepted into a Nurse Practitioner program before the end of season 6. There’s been little mention of her since season 7 started. Fans will just have to wait and see what her current status is as a nurse practitioner.

Co-showrunner Andrew Schneider remains hopeful that April will return to the show, although there’s no plan for her return yet. He also clarified that the doors are open in case DaCosta wants to return to the show. She may return as a lead character or in a cameo, whichever she prefers.

The actress also shared that she’s looking forward to portraying characters that present her with obstacles. She’s extremely grateful for the experience and every obstacle she faces helps her know herself more and what she’s capable of.
