Will Trent Star Shares Emotional Goodbye Following Amanda’s Shocking Death

Will Trent fans are still reeling from most recent episode of the hit ABC series.  It’s never easy to see one of our favorite primetime characters getting killed off, but Amanda Wagner’s unexpected death hit viewers hard. 

Sonja Sohn took to social media to address her exit from Will Trent and officially said her goodbyes to the cast, crew, and fans.  Keep reading to see what she had to say!

Why Did The Will Trent Writers Kill Off Amanda

Amanda Wagner was introduced in the first season of Will Trent as the Chief of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.  Will’s relationship with Wagner over the years has been like that of a mother and son, and it’s impossible to imagine the FBI team without her looking over them.  

Despite the chatter on social media, Sonja Sohn didn’t decide to leave the show and is just as upset about her character’s death as viewers at home. 

Interestingly, Amanda Wagner wasn’t supposed to live past season two.  When Sohn’s character was shot last year, the writers had a change of heart and decided to keep her around for a little bit longer.  

Sonja Sohn Sounds Off

The popular Will Trent actress took to Instagram after the April 14 episode aired and confirmed she had left the series.  Sohn wrote to her followers, “Once you get the pink slip, it’s just a job. I got a job like you got a job. It’s just a job. 

Actors are really low people on the totem pole when it comes down to the big structure. When you get a pink slip, baby, you don’t ask why. You just say goodbye.”  She went on to thank the dedicated Will Trent fans for all of their support, and seems to be on good terms with TPTB.

The Will Trent Season 4 finale is set to air on May 4 and promises to be a tearjerker as Will and the team face life without Wagner.  Are you sad to see Sonja Sohn leave?
