The Screen Actors Guild Awards’ Drama Series Ensemble honor ranks as one of the TV division’s top two awards. The other in that category goes to Best Comedy Series Ensemble. Yellowstone’s Competition Comes From Streaming Platforms
Yellowstone’s fellow nominees for Drama Series Ensemble come from the various streaming platforms, such as “The Handmaid Tale” on Hulu and “Squid Game” on Netflix. And that puts Yellowstone in its own category. Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan and executive producer David Glasser commented on the nomination.
“There’s no bigger compliment to an actor than being recognized by their peers,” said Sheridan. “Congratulations to our incredibly talented cast on this wonderful and well deserved nomination.” Glasser agreed, calling the nomination “incredibly rewarding [and] a true testament to the original voices and special universe that Taylor created.”
Recently, Yellowstone broke previous records for its season four finale. That episode soared up 81 percent, representing more than 9 million viewers on the Paramount Network, when compared to the season 3 finale. Fans can learn if Yellowstone won when SAG announces the winners live on TNT and TBS on Sunday, Feb. 27, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
Yellowstone Producer Talks Season 5
While the cast celebrates its nomination, producers and writers have begun work on season 5, reported Variety. Executive producer David Glasser shared that he believes together with showrunner Taylor Sheridan, Yellowstone has only tapped into part of its potential. This time period represents “the prime of the show,” Glasser added.
“I think the show is still maturing,” he noted. “And there’s still a lot of story to tell. I know with Taylor, he’s got a lot to say and a lot to write. He’s deep into Season 5 of ‘Yellowstone’ now.”
As for spoilers? Glasser avoided giving any clues to what season 5 might reveal. But the exec producer did share that Sheridan has developed “some incredible ideas that he shared that I think audiences are going to be really excited about.” Production most likely will begin again on Yellowstone in May. As a result of that schedule, the premiere for season 5 would probably get aired in autumn, according to the exec producer.
