General Hospital spoilers reveal that breaking news announces that Marcus Coloma has been let go from his role as Nikolas Cassadine. He joined the soap in 2019 and the role was formerly played by Tyler Christopher.

Inside sources at the ABC show have spilled the tea to Daytime Confidential that the actor was allegedly informed that he had been written out of the role, and subsequently did not film the character’s final scenes.
General Hospital spoilers: Nikolas Cassadine Conundrum
Nikolas is a front burner character as a Cassadine and he is involved in several steamy plotlines at the moment. For one thing he slept with his teen son Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Chavez) girlfriend and got her pregnant.
At this point in time he has Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) locked in a room at his gloomy castle, and she is sadly left alone to decorate a Charlie Brown Christmas tree while she talks to her unborn baby, Ace.

He is also floating the story that he got his ex Liz Webber (Rebecca Herbst) pregnant as a way of covering up the Esme lie. This enraged his wife vindictive former mobstress Ava Jerome (Maura West) who is extorting him for a boatload of money to go quietly into the good night.
Last week Ava rung up Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) to try and get even more money for keeping quiet about Nikolas supposedly killing Esme. Nikolas is a character past the point of redemption it would seem.

Many fans would love to see the actor return to the role as the troubled Cassadine Prince who lives large in a scary island mansion named Wyndemere. You definitely need to bring in another Nikolas. The storyline demands it. He plays a very important role. Just get a new one. The storyline will be compromised if a new Nikolas is not replaced. Sorry to see the old one go.
I agree with Susan, I’ve never liked Colombo as Nicholas. He’s not handsome enough and in my opinion he isn’t a very good actor.
I would love to see Tyler Christopher back as Nicholas.

I totally agree with you, Pamela. I never liked Tyler Christopher and don’t understand his fan appeal. To me, he always came across as angry and I felt he was pretty much a one note actor without much emotional range. On the other hand, I loved Marcus Coloma in the role and think he’s done a great job. At least there’s some warmth to him which is something that didn’t come across with Tyler. I wish the producers would reconsider their decision, but at this point, I know that’s not going to happen.
And to add insult to injury – Tyler would have absolutely no chemistry with Maura West. Nicholas and Ava would be no more!!!

Sadly I do not want to see Marcus replaced it took him a while but I think he fit into the character very well. I don’t know what’s going on with General Hospital but they are getting rid of all of her good actors I think maybe what they should do the start to look into replacing the writers who obviously are not doing a good enough job. An actor can only do what is written on a script. I personally think it’s time I need to start changing channels and start watching another soap and that’s a shame because I’m 74 and I have been watching this so I was in my teens. Bringing another actor in in the middle of all these scenes is not gonna work.

I am so tired of them killing all the good characters of on GH . I also love Marcus as Nicholas and can’t believe they are doing this. The story line with Esme is so stupid. I’m really thinking they need to get some new writers on the show. Also With Kelly (Britt) leaving I have no reason to watch and I have been watching since the beginning in 1963. I’m out!
Please, please bring back Tyler Christopher! No one so far has played the role as well as he did!
I think it would be a big mistake to kill off the character Nikolas. Bring back Tyler Christopher or recast the role to someone who can replace him!
Don understand this at all! There seems to be so much unfinished with Nikolas…especially the Ava/Esme/Liz/Baby/Ryan/Heather debacle. Nik is in the center of it all. Are they killing him off or just wanting to replace the actor? Makes no sense.
I’ve grown to enjoy Coloma as Nikolas but if there’s even the slimmest chance GH could get Tyler Christopher back in the role, I’d be over the moon, as would a huge part of the fan base; Tyler still has a massive following. It would be exciting to see where the writers could go with Tyler’s Nik, as he gives his roles so much depth and heart. Most of all, they can NOT kill of Nikolas! He’s a key character of the show!

I have never regarded him as a good actor. But the story continues and hopefully it will not be 10 and suddenly this kid shows up
Never thought Colombo was a good Nicholas, and if true he was a no show for final scenes I have a low opinion of him as a professional.
