ABC General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal for the past year a lot of fans have been asking this same question: whatever happened to Drew Cain (Billy Miller) and is he coming back to Port Charles? Well, that all depends on what the General Hospital writing team has in store for fans. In the meantime, we have several reasons why Billy Miller needs to come back to reprise his role as Drew Cain.
Fans Want Billy Miller Back
Needless to say, Billy Miller has always been one of the most popular figures on daytime television and not just because of his role on General Hospital, but also because of his time on The Young and the Restless as well. Not only is he incredibly talented at what he does, but he’s pretty easy on the eyes too, making him an all-time daytime television favorite.
While many soap stars often jump from one series to the next, Billy Miller has been suspiciously quiet for the past year. Could it be that he’s prepping for a major comeback? That’s what General Hospital fans are certainly hoping for!
GH Updates – Possible Reconnection With Sam McCall
Seeing how Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) have been on the rocks for a very long time now, this could be the best timing for Drew Cain to return and show Sam just how much she really means to him. After all, before the ‘real Jason Morgan’ returned to Port Charles a few years back, Drew and Sam were happily married with a family and a life of their own.
Plus, there’s no denying that Sam and Drew had great chemistry and passion between them. With General Hospital Sam and Drew back together again, it might make Jason finally realize that he is missing out on a lot by not being with the beautiful, but also a complicated brunette.
Has Drew Cain Been Taken, Hostage?
While Drew Cain is presumed to be dead, no one knows that for sure. While everyone believes that Drew died in a plane crash, his body was never discovered. There’s a strong possibility that Drew might be making his way back to Port Charles or if he is back, he could very well be lurking in the shadows, waiting to make his next move. If that weren’t enough, there’s also speculation that Peter August might be secretly keeping him hostage. Whatever the case, General Hospital fans want answers and most importantly, real closure.

General Hospital Spoilers – It’s Time To Tie Up Some Loose Ends
While nothing has ever been confirmed, there was some speculation that hinted General Hospital executive producers were thinking about bringing back Drew Cain in order to tie up some loose ends. That was after one report suggested that a ‘fan favorite’ would be returning back to the canvas.
Unfortunately, the global pandemic that is the coronavirus (Covid-19) has not only suspended production but has also put many contract negotiations on hold, which means that it might take even longer time before we find out exactly what happened to Drew Cain or if Billy Miller will ever return for that matter.

Yes! He & Sam had so much more chemistry than Sam & Jason. Sam & Jason’s relationship seems forced. The relationship between Drew & Sam felt more natural. Hopefully he comes back & Sam realizes how much she loved him. She can actually be with him. Jason is off limits to her.
Loved Billy Miller on Y&R not on GH he was boring we do not need him back

I would like Drew back in town. There is plenty of women in town for Drew to pick.
Sasha would be a good one for him, a little young ,but not to bad. Plus all that was mentioned. I really like him.
I do want Drew back in PC. I think that there is much for him to do at this time. Jason and Sam are facing Cyrus which might put Scout in danger. Drew would want to help Jason and Sam against him to protect Scout. I am not sure if Drew and Sam would get back together but it might happen. However if it did not then I could see Drew paired with Portia or Harmony. I could also see a situation where Drew could be with Jordan if something brings Curtis and Portia together. I would like to see Drew reconnect with Franco, Liz, Monica, and everyone else he cares about. It would also help the situation with Peter a lot if Drew was alright.
I don’t think their talking about the Drew character unfortunately! I believe their talking about Dante. I feel the chemistry between Steve and Kelly is beyond saving it’s old and stale no matter how they try! I am begging TPTB bring Billy Miller back as part of the new writing teams going in the right direction finally.
Yes !! Sam and Drew are very very better together than Sam and Jason. They bring light and happiness to the screen. We need them.

I think your comments are a matter of opinion, and you certainly have yours which I respect, but in my opinion, Sam/Jason nor Sam/Drew have any chemistry just two people saying lines. My opinion is that all of Sam’s relationships seem forced. Didn’t seem that she cared that much for Drew except when she felt he was Jason. In my opinion chemistry within all GH pairings are lacking, no where near what they used to be a few years back. Writing for pairings are lacking emotion, caring and all Love In The Afternoon has been thrown out the window. The only couple I see as having true chemistry is Chase/Willow and I don’t mean just romantic scenes or between the sheets scenes. The two showed they cared for one another even during day to day conversation. In fact it worked so well the writers worked even harder to separate them unnecessarily for the Wiley story line. Most of the pairings look good together, but actually making a viewer wanting to grab their significant other isn’t happening in my opinion. The love lives of the characters on GH have hit skid row and it doesn’t seem as though they will return.
