Heads of State Trailer Drops: A Perfect Fun Movie This Summer?

Heads of State premieres on July 2 on Prime Video, and the movie looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun this summer. This week, a trailer dropped, and the reactions by viewers seem to be very good. Read on to watch the teaser and find out if you’d enjoy it.

The Synopsis Sounds Serious

The synopsis of the movie directed by Ilya Naishuller sounds very serious. It promises an intense conflict between Sam Clarke (Idris Elba), the Prime Minister of the UK, and Will Derringer ( John Cena), the fictional President of the USA. Their contentious relationship puts the vital “special relationship” between their nations at risk.

Along the way, they find a common enemy that makes them work together despite their dislike of each other. Staying alive takes precedence over personal issues. Helped by Noel Bisset (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), an MI6 operative responsible for their safety, the two heads of state find themselves in a frantic, international chase to foil a worldwide conspiracy that imperils the entire free world.

The Trailer Makes It Look Like Good Fun

Politics and rolling on the floor laughing seldom intersect. But the Heads of State movie seems to have done just that. When the two leaders end up on a plane under fire, the truests words ever, arrived: “Oh sh*t.”  They are going down, but not to worry, parachutes come in handy.

Having survived, they walk around a wilderness looking very out of place in their suits and ties. Ending up on an old truck, the next scenes showed them getting a hot reception from rural rednecks. Telling them to “read the room” ends up in a fist fight.

Chopra then enters the fray, and plenty of kick-*ss moves follow as she tries to get them to “the most secure” place on the continent. 

Fans React To The Teaser

It looks like this could be the best fun in a long time, judging by the comments made by viewers. One of them said on YouTube, “Honestly, this looks damn good and a perfect fun summer flick.” Another commenter agreed, saying, “This looks like the perfect summer movie that’s just meant to be stupid fun.”

Look, it is a bit unrealistic, and a bit slapstick, but hey, a belly laugh now and then never hurt anyone. Here are a few other reactions:
