What a sensational story that would have been. Sensational for us, and reportedly even lucrative for Meghan.
So, where did the two have their near miss?
Well, according to News24 Australia, when Meghan Markle was having lunch with activist Malala Yousafzai at Claridge’s Hotel in Mayfair, the Princess of Wales and her daughter, Princess Charlotte, were reportedly traveling nearby on the London Underground’s Elizabeth Line, which serves the area through Bond Street Station.

As previous coverage of Meghan Markle’s meeting with Malala Yousafzai revealed, their appearance at Claridge’s had already generated speculation about the attention surrounding the Duchess.
On top of that, according to an insider, Claridge’s is one of Kate’s favorite places to dine discreetly, making Meghan’s presence there a little too close for comfort for the Princess.
The source claimed that Kate and William have dined there many times and suggested that Meghan’s presence at the hotel might have irritated Kate.
However, there is no confirmation that Kate was aware Meghan was at Claridge’s or that either woman was planning to meet the other.

But I have to wonder whether Meghan would really want that kind of confrontation. With all the attention surrounding her business ventures and family, another public royal feud might be the last thing she needs.
And let’s not forget Kate. She’s been keeping busy with her own family and royal responsibilities, so I doubt she’d welcome an awkward encounter in the middle of London.
Personally, I think it would be far more interesting to see the two women sit down privately and try to put some of their differences behind them. But after everything that’s happened, I’m not holding my breath!
