Neighbours Spoilers: Annie Jones Exits, Again

Neighbours producers have confirmed that Plain Jane Superbrain is leaving again after her grandmother – the iconic Mrs Mangel – passes away.

Neighbours fans will once again have to say goodbye to Jane Harris next week as her latest guest appearance comes to an end.

Actress Annie Jones is leaving the Australian street for the second time after reprising her role of Jane more than 30 years after her original debut. The characters final week in the street will coincide with the death of a beloved Neighbours veteran Mrs Nell Mangel.

Jane returned to the street this month in a storyline that was heavily revolved around her grandmother Mrs Mangel. Jane was trying to find some very valuable stamps that were left in Erinsborough, hoping to sell them to pay for her grandmother’s care home in London.

Early next week we will see Jane spending time with old friend Paul Robinson, who find themselves being surprisingly candid with each other. Jane admits that she feels resentful for having to put her life on hold to look after her grandmother and wishes she could have afforded professional care instead.

Though she feels light a weight has been lifted by telling Paul, Jane soon receives a phone call telling her that her grandmother has passed away. Jane feels immediately guilty not only because of her confession but also because she was half way across the world when she died. For this reason, she makes immediate plans to return to England.

Before Jane goes Paul kindly gives her the painting of Mrs Mangel that was hanging in Lassiters hotel lobby. When the picture is removed from the frame Jane discovers the book of stamps that she came back to Erinsborough to find!

Sad that it’s too late to help her grandmother but confident that she now has the money to start her life over again, Jane feels bittersweet about leaving Erinsborough.

Upon her leaving Paul reveals that he hopes she will return soon – will Plain Jane come back to Erinsborough for good?
