Prince William Draws A Line On Princess Diana Projects, Creating Hurdles For Harry

Prince William seems to be drawing lines on projects involving his late mother, Princess Diana, and it could cause some problems for Prince Harry. Read on to find out more.

Neil Sean discussed the ongoing friction between the royal brothers during his Daily News Headlines vlog on YouTube. Sean argued that William’s decision to distance himself from any new TV or film projects about Princess Diana shuts down potential plans.

According to The Times, Prince William rejected offers involving documentaries about his mom ahead of the 30th anniversary of her death. And the outlet reported that Harry is in talks with Netflix about a Diana documentary.

In Neil’s opinion, William taking a hard line on it also serves as a warning to anyone who worked in the palace, or who might have knowledge about Diana, to steer clear of sharing their private memories.

Creating Hurdles

The royal expert also noted that Prince William has “had to knock a lot of things on the head” when it comes to preparations for the anniversary.

Neil Sean said, “Now Harry knows, all thanks to his elder brother Prince William, that by him saying ‘I’m not doing anything,’ then ultimately this sends a signal to many other people who are basically saying, ‘We better keep away too.'”

Sean also discussed that streaming networks such as Netflix would more than likely need a strong narrator and plenty of unpublished details for a new documentary about Princess Diana. Sean argued that Prince William not coming to the party could create a major hurdle.

Looking For Revenue

Sean also claimed that Harry and Meghan Markle continue looking for reliable revenue streams. It does, in a way, make sense for them to consider something about Princess Diana because she is still well regarded in the UK and stateside.

However, even good ideas that get pitched could run into obstacles. Sean alleged that while Meghan reportedly hoped to handle the narration, execs would probably want some A-lister. Sean floated the idea of actor Kevin Costner.

Harry’s personal memories alone, Sean suggested, might not provide enough commercial weight for a multi-million-dollar deal.
