British royal family news reveals that the whole country is focused on a singular event at the moment, Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, June 2-5. The stunning event celebrates Her Majesty’s 70 years on the throne and is most definitely a once in a lifetime happenstance.
The 96-year old monarch has been a beloved figurehead for seven decades and when the time comes her eldest son, Prince Charles, will reign in her place. But for now, the avid environmentalist is making news of a different sort, hanging out with another British family that is as well known, and perhaps as contentious, as Charles’ own.
Royal Family News – Prince Charles Is A Soap Star
Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, have filmed cameo appearances for the country’s beloved soap opera EastEnders. The soap follows the goings on in the fictional town of Walford. The royal couple will be part of the episode airing on Thursday, June 2nd.
Charles and Camilla play themselves when they arrive in Albert Square just as the merry residents are having a party to celebrate Her Majesty’s platinum jubilee.

Charles and Camilla were on the EastEnders stage in March. Pictures reveal that the excited cast and crew turned out to meet them and everyone was beaming with delight. Letitia Dean, who plays Sharon Watts, offered up a warm story about gallant Prince Charles offering her his coat when she got a bit chilly.
The couple’s cameo was filmed in secret on the same day. Kellie Bright plays Linda Carter, the long suffering wife of alpha male Mick Carter (Danny Dyer), and she now spills some dish on what fans can expect to see in the memorable upcoming episode.

According to Bright, “Mick has applied to be part of ‘The Big Jubilee Lunch’ and gets a phone call saying ‘You have been randomly selected to have a visit on the day by Their Royal Highnesses Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall.”
“He’s not allowed to tell anyone, but he does share it with Linda, who is a huge royalist. So they are the only ones who know they are getting this visit, and it’s about pulling out all the stops because they know it’s going be an extra special day.”
She went on to add that, “It was filmed ‘as live’ so we only had one go, and it was treated for Charles and Camilla like a normal ‘meet and greet.’’

She said that the cast was so awed by the royals that when they arrived, there was an impromptu round of applause! Next she and Danny, “introduced them to different people, and we had a cake and unveiled a plaque. For Linda, all her Christmases have come at once. It was all a bit improvised but very exciting.”
“Whatever your opinion of the royals, I think it will be an amazing, unmissable bit of television. I feel really lucky to be a part of it.”
EastEnders airs Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7.30 pm on BBC One.
