The Duchess of York already has her pick for the perfect handsome man to appear in the feature film version of her debut novel, Her Heart for a Compass, which premiered on August 3. Here’s her vision of the perfect Scottish lover she predicts will match her flame-haired heroine’s spirit.

Sarah Ferguson Talks Film Adaptation Plans For Her Debut Romance Book

The Duchess of York released her Mills & Boon romance book, Her Heart for a Compass, earlier this month. The fictional novel is inspired by the life of her great-great-aunt, Lady Margaret Montagu Douglas Scott.

The novel is set in the Victorian era and is based on the forbidden and passionate love that developed between Lady Margaret and her Scottish lover David Cameron, who she is eager to wed despite her father’s strong objection.

The book received many negative reviews from critics after it premiered last Tuesday, but already, Sarah has signed another book deal with publishers and she’s currently considering a movie adaptation.

The 61-year-old Duchess appeared on Loose Women on Monday from Windsor Castle to talk about the launch of her book. She also took a little detour and talked about her interest in having the book made for television, along with offering suggestions on who will best portray the starring guy.

“I think Colin Firth is just phenomenal”, Fergie said. “Aidan Turner I love, James Norton but at the moment Aidan Turner takes the top spot for me, it must be said.”

The Duchess worked on her new book with the help of romance writer Marguerite Kaye, and she appreciated their co-writing efforts and hailed it for providing a sort of “escapism” during the pandemic.

“She gave me the ability to go into 1870 and this incredible journey of following your own voice and your own strength,” Sarah said. “She and I would work out each line. It is racy, but we leave a lot to the reader to leave up to their imagination.”

Speaking on whether her heroine shares anything in common with her, she said: “There are many parallels with my own life story which is one of the luckiest life stories there is. I’m very grateful every day, I wake up and say I’m so lucky, I’m lucky and I turn to joy and put doubt to the back seat. There are so many parallels with my life in the book.”

Royal Family News – Sarah Opens Up About Co-parenting With Prince Andrew

Prince Andrew, Sarah’s ex-husband, retired from royal duties in 2019 over a scandal arising from his friendship with disgraced Pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein. While Sarah praised her ex-husband for being a good man and for his parenting skills, she laughed off the possibility of the two rekindling their romance.

“Oh my goodness me,” said Sarah. “You’re all fairytale, you all have your wands out! What I love is, Andrew and I remained steadfast in the past co-parenting and now grand-parenting.”

“He is such a good grandfather I get some FOMO, he is so good with August, he is such a good man and it is so great to spend time with family,” she continued.

After six years of marriage, Sarah and Prince Andrew separated in 1992 and divorced four years later. The pair continue to share a home at the Royal Lodge, where they co-parent their now adult children.

The Duke and Duchess of York became grandparents for the first time when daughter Princess Eugenie welcomed her first child August, while Princess Beatrice is due to give birth later this year.

Last week, the Duchess called Andrew a “really good father”, insisting that they co-parented their daughters “very well”.

“Prince Andrew is just such a good man, he’s a really thoroughly good man,’ she said during an appearance on Lorraine. He’s a very gentle man, he’s a really good father and we did co-parent very well, hence the reason our girls are very solid and have their feet on the ground.”

She also praised her husband for acing the grand-parenting game, saying, “But now as a grandfather he’s really good, he can go for hours talking about football, and those things. It’s a joy to see him really shine as a grandfather.’

Even though Sarah and Andrew have been divorced for more than 20 years, their continued closeness sometimes lead to speculations that they might get back together again.
