The Young And The Restless Spoilers: J.T.’s Ghost Story Feels Like Passions – Halloween Comes Early

It’s four months until Halloween on ‘The Young and the Restless’, but the four-lady contingent that body-dumped J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) doesn’t care. Yes, Y&R has written a spooky storyline that is allowing this pre-All Saints Day event to come early. As a result, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Sharon (Sharon Case), Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), and Vickie (Amelia Heinle) are increasingly uncertain if a man they believed dead has either lived, or been resurrected.

The idea that J.T. is alive is absolutely, positively, fully outrageous. However, supervising producer Lisa de Cazotte, who joined the soap last December, has been part of many daytime drama’s leadership teams in the past, including, most recently NBC’s ‘Days of our Lives’ and also ‘Passions’.

‘Passions’ (1999-2007) was a modern resurrection of the soap opera horror blend that was most famously projected by ABC’s iconic ‘Dark Shadows’. That steamer included its most famous character, Barnabas Collins (played by the late, great Jonathan Frid).

While J.T. isn’t a vampire, what’s being implied is that he’s supernatural. Would Y&R take a leap into the otherworld by actually transforming a heretofore regular character into an immortal persona?

In order to be alive, J.T. would have overcome being struck on the back of his head by Nikki and then buried, while supposedly still alive. How many mortal human beings could go without breathing for an unknown period of time and then somehow dug out of a quickly prepared grave?

Unless de Cazotte’s past experience has been injected into current scripts, then J.T. is what’s he’s been for awhile, dead. Assuming that common sense plot point is true, then who is the person that appeared in the security video that was recently shown?

While it’s possible Y&R is attempting to play to those who enjoy supernatural events in daytime, it’s also plausible that this enduring and endearing soap opera has merely created an engaging whodunit. Though in this case, the phrase could easily be, who’s doing this to the living characters in Genoa City?

They need to stop this story line. Stupid and boring and the ”friends who are enemies” are unbelievable together.
Pull an all nighter and dig yourself out of this story. (no pun intended)
