True Detective: Night Country fans are about to get truly excited as, after the delays caused by the SAG-AFTRA strike, season 4 is coming.

Once again, fans will get to see Jodie Foster’s character, Danvers, working alongside Kali Reis’ character Navarro. The show tells the story of a heinous crime and those who solve it, with the latest happening in a remote research station in Alaska.

Read on to find out what Foster had to say about the upcoming fourth season in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Jodie Foster explained why she wanted to star in True Detective: Night Country. She said that one of the things she truly loves about the show is that it reveals worlds that you’ve never seen before. J

odie said the show has a “creepy, spooky, thrilling tone that mirrors the interior journey of both of the tortured detectives,” adding:

I think that’s what I was drawn to was watching and being really a part of a new and fascinating and interesting cultural generational trauma unfold through Kali’s character and through Navarro, and then through all of the people around her. And I’m sort of the lovable antagonist.

What can fans expect from season 4?

As fans know, Danvers and Navarro appear to have some kind of tumultuous history that will reveal itself in the series. Due to this, fans should be ready for what is coming in the fourth season.

Season 4 of True Detective: Night Country is set to premiere on January 14, 2024. However, fans should be prepared as it won’t be a long season, but it looks like it will be packed with drama throughout the episodes.

Moreover, both lead actors are happy to see stories about indigenous people. While Foster admits her character has much to learn at the start of the season, she said:

I feel very proud that the Indigenous experience is so centered and that it isn’t just lip service to representation or counting screen time. It really is almost everybody, except for me, in the show is a part of that voice, which I really learned a lot from. And I feel very blessed that I got to be part of this because it’s someone else’s time, it’s their time, it’s not my time. It’s my time to serve, and it’s their time.

When does season 4 of True Detective: Night Country air?

Season 4 of True Detective: Night Country is set to premiere on HBO and Max on January 14, 2024, at 9 pm ET/PT. From there, episodes will be released weekly, with the finale set to air on February 18.
