British royal family news reveals that it has been a busy week in the United Kingdom for the royal family. Here is everything you need to know to get up to date with what The Firm has been up to.
First off there was a grand whistle-stop train trip for Prince William and Kate Middleton. The appealing Duke and Duchess of Cambridge set off on a 48 hour, 1,250-mile train trip across England, Scotland and Wales this week to thank frontline workers, volunteers, and care home staff for all they’ve done during the pandemic.
The couple visited each locale aboard the Queen’s lavish Royal Train and it was not without some controversy as the First Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon was believed to have thrown shade at the trip. She later banned Prince Charles from entering the country for Christmas–We know who’s getting a lump of coal in her stocking!
On the charity front, a selection of Christmas cards sent by the Queen and Prince Philip in years past has been put up for auction. The cards are from 1998 and 2018, all signed by the royal couple and expected to get up to $264 (£200) each when they go up at Rowley’s auction house in Ely, Cambridgeshire.
They may be gone, but they are far from forgotten–Meghan Markle’s favorite holiday tipple recipe is making the rounds! So while the Cambridges are running across the country cheering people up and the queen is auctioning rare cards for charity, Harry and the missus are doing their part by trying to get people drunk. We’re talking about Meghan’s almond milk spiced holiday cocktail and sweet potato recipe, double yum. What will they think of next.
In much better news, it was announced that the Queen’s granddaughter Zara and her husband Mike Tindall are expecting a baby. The expectant dad broke the news himself on the podcast he co-hosts, The Good, The Bad & The Rugby. The couple, live at her mom Princess Anne’s Gatcombe Estate in Gloucester, and are parents to Mia Grace, six, and Lena Elizabeth, two.
There you have it folks, the main events as seen through the eyes of the UK’s royal family. What will they be up to next week? We’re certain some will be thoughtful, some will be naughty and some will be nice as the countdown to Christmas approaches.
