Meghan Markle is under a lot of scrutiny following her statement about Thomas Markle, who is being investigated by the Philippines police for alleged CSAM. But while that’s going on, she’s also slated to appear in Junior MasterChef Australia, and amid rumors of a clash, judge Poh Ling Yeow defended Prince Harry’s wife.
The Masterchef Appearance
When the news about Meghan appearing on Junior MasterChef Australia 2027 arrived, some folks even thought she might relocate there, and others thought she landed the job as host.
However, the Endemol Shine Australia website specifically notes that she is appearing as a special guest. So, it isn’t a permanent job.
The Rumored Clash
The alleged clash between judge Poh Ling Yeow and Meghan Markle came when Meghan appeared on MasterChef Australia in July this year. She is returning to the franchise for Junior MasterChef Australia in 2027.
New Idea reported that allegedly, “Sources claim there were a handful of awkward behind-the-scenes moments during filming.” Allegedly, “Poh Ling Yeow was reportedly left upset after unintentionally introducing Meghan as ‘royalty.”‘
Amid the latest controversy, People Magazine reported that Poh told PEDESTRIAN.TV this week that it was all a “really crazy experience, to actually watch the fallout.”
Defending Meghan
Instead of being upset about the rumored clash, she said, “Seriously, the woman has a will of steel, and I just have even more admiration for her.”
When it comes to the royal family, and Meghan Markle in particular, Poh Ling Yeow wrote it off to rumors started by people who are “insatiable and horrible.”

Now she knows how it feels to be on the receiving end of wild allegations, but she says that ‘it’s like, it’s fine.'”
Viewers React
Those people who saw the post by PEDESTRIAN.TV on Instagram had a chance to comment.
One of them wrote, “There are plenty of amazing Australian female chefs we would use MasterChef to elevate, Meghan is not the right fit. Support local women!”
Here are a few more mixed responses from the discussion:
- “Sending LOVE and JOY to both of these beautiful ladies. Haters will hate, that’s what they do. Meghan is a wonderful addition to this show.”
- “Thank you Poh Ling, please take good care of our gal, She’s Lovely & you are Awesome!”
- “The Duchess comes from a tv background, relates strongly to kitchen activities and children, seems a perfect fit with diversity casting a bonus.”
- “Sorry Poh, she kept quiet for 8+ years on serious allegations, never followed up or forwarded this info on to US authorities. What about the mental & physical health of these children!!!”
