Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Will Ted Laurent Be The Next Salem DA?

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Hope Hernandez (Kristian Alfonso) will soon find herself working closely with a new District Attorney. Melinda Trask (Laura Kai Chen) has just resigned as DA to run for mayor, and current mayor Abe Carver (James Reynolds) will soon be looking to appoint someone in her place.

As police commissioner, Hope didn’t exactly enjoy working with Melinda. Melinda was rude and hard-nosed, and Hope probably thinks that whoever Abe appoints to replace her will be a welcome relief.

But what if the person that Abe appoints actually ends up causing more trouble for Hope than Melinda ever did? It’s certainly looking like that may be the case, since there’s one particular lawyer in Salem who could really stir up trouble for Hope if he became the new DA…and that’s Ted Laurent (Gilles Marini).

Ted really perked up when he learned from Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) that Melinda had resigned, so it seems entirely possible that he may approach Abe with the idea of becoming the next Salem DA. Ted would love nothing more than to work closely with Hope, since he seems to have a thing for her.

Of course, if Abe does appoint Ted to be the DA, then Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) is not going to be happy. That would put Ted smack dab in the middle of Hope’s orbit, which is someplace that Rafe would rather Ted not be. Rate already thinks that Ted’s after Hope, and he suspects that Hope’s getting drawn into Ted’s web.

If Ted does become DA, then he’ll be heavily involved in Hope and Rafe’s daily lives. This will surely cause more trouble for Rope’s marriage down the line. They’re already on thin ice since Rafe went to Europe to help Sami DiMera (Alison Sweeney) and since Hope’s become obsessed with putting Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) away.

We’ll see if Ted pursues the DA position, but one thing’s for sure. The closer he and Hope get going forward, the greater the chances of a Rope marriage disaster! Do you think that Ted will be Salem’s next DA?
