Chesapeake Shores season 5 is seriously delayed and fans were starting to get worried. However, Los Angeles actor Jesse Metcalfe (Trace Riley) shared an update, including when we can expect new episodes. Plus, there are a whole new set of “Chessie” fans due to the COVID-19 lockdown and Netflix.
Chesapeake Shores Season 5 Premiere
Although we don’t have an exact premiere date yet, Metcalfe did give an estimate. He said that new episodes will air on the Hallmark Channel in summer 2021. Now, that might seem like a far way off, but there have been a few obstacles. It was originally supposed to premiere in August 2020, but production was shut down in March due to the pandemic. Filming did not restart until July. So that definitely stalled getting fans new episodes.
Chesapeake Shores Season – The Good News
The good news is that Chesapeake Shores season 5 will not just have the typical six episodes. Instead, we are going to get 10 episodes. Filming is about to resume shortly on Vancouver Island. So, while we do have to wait several months, it will be worth it to have more episodes to watch!
Chesapeake Shores Season – Binge-Worthy Series On Netflix
Metcalfe was contacted on Twitter by some fans who let him know that they are new viewers. They caught the show on Netflix and fell in love. There seems to be quite a few of them too, so it seems that while everyone was in lockdown, they were able to find some new shows to discover, including Chesapeake Shores! One wrote that they just discovered the Hallmark TV show on Netflix and couldn’t believe it took that long to find Metcalfe. They added the hashtag, #16yearoldmeiscrushinghard. Metcalfe retweeted it and replied, “At least you found me..and the show! #ChesapeakeShores Season 5 coming Summer 2021!!!! @HallmarkChannel.”

There is also father Mick O’Brien (Treat Williams), formerly estranged mom Megan O’Brien (Barbara Niven) and wise grandma Nell O’Brien (Diane Ladd).
Chesapeake Shores is based on the novel of the same name, written by Sherryl Woods.

I am very disappointed that Trace Riley and his band is leaving the show–Its the heart of the series and being a #Cheesie fan makes it even more difficult–Guess I will move over to the Hallmark Mystery Channel with Jesse and Sarah–We need to come up with a #for the Martha Vineyard series and a # for Jesse and Sarah.
nice series but who is the german shepard axel is it same dog as in hudson and rex?
I love chesapeake shores, I'm sorry Trace didn't marry Abby.
I will NOT be watching Chesapeake Shores without Jesse Metcalfe. He was the whole reason for the show to be as popular as it was!!!
