British royal family news reveals that the United Kingdom royal family is in the midst of a baby boom. Along with the new babies arises the question of succession within the clan.
What this means is that senior members of the family are jostled from their positions due to the bumper crop of babies.
Just this morning Princess Beatrice and her husband Edo Mapelli Mozzi, announced that they are expecting their first child together in autumn.
Royal Family News – Beatrice is About to Be a New Mom
In February Beatrice’s sister, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank welcomed their son August and that effectively changed the line of succession. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s summer arrival will again alter the line. Princess Anne’s daughter Zara Tindall gave birth in March but she does not have a title so her son Lucas did not affect the succession line. Zara Tindall gave birth to Lucas in March. He weighed 8lbs 4oz and joined older sisters Mia, seven, and Lena, two.
The first seven places remain unmoved, but when Baby Mapelli Mozzi arrives they will take the 11th succession spot while Baby Sussex becomes eighth in line to the throne.
Royal Family News – Princess Beatrice Is Expecting In Fall
Beatrice is a princess and currently 11th in line to the throne. But her baby boy or girl won’t receive a royal title—that honor is reserved for grandchildren of the monarch. More likely the child will be known as Master or Miss Mozzi.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are anticipating the birth of their second child. It has been reported that the mother intends to have a home birth in their Montecito, California residence.
They are parents to Archie Mountbatten-Windsor who just turned two. Their new baby will shuffle senior family members down the succession line and Princess Beatrice’s child will alter the line even more.
Harry and Meghan’s second child will be eighth in line to the throne.
Royal Family News – Harry And Meghan Are Expecting A Second Child
The first seven places in the line of succession remain unchanged: the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Harry, and Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.
But when Harry and Meghan’s baby arrives, the Duke of York, who was born second in line in 1960, will move down to the ninth place.
