General Hospital Spoilers and Rumors: Michael Corbett To Join GH, Another Novak Family Associate?

General Hospital spoilers and rumors tease in a possible leak that Michael Corbett is to join General Hospital sometime this fall. Although the name of the character has not yet been released, he did play Michael Pavel, Jr. on Ryan’s Hope. Pavel Jr. Michael Pavel, Jr., was a “lovable cad” who had a long-term affair with both a mother, Rae Woodard (Louise Shaffer) and her daughter, Kimberly Woodard (Kelly Maroney). However, Michael Pavel Sr. (mentioned character) had worked on the docks and was killed by Tiso Novotny (David Clarke) who had been Joe Novak’s (Roscoe Born) uncle. Tiso was the one who gave Delia Coleridge (Ilene Kristen) money to open her own restaurant. Could Michael Corbett be coming on as another Novak family associate?

Longtime ABC daytime drama fans who watched Ryan’s Hope back in the day and General Hospital have realized there have been many nods to Ryan’s Hope lately. Even back a few years ago General Hospital had Delia on as Ava Jerome Cassadine’s (Maura West) mother! Joey Novak (Patrick Zeller) is likely named after the late Joe Novak, and he could be a son or a nephew possibly. The head of the Novak crime family, Vince Novak (Glenn Taranto) is likely a relative as well.

The first place Joey was seen was in Charlie’s Pub, which is now owned by Ava after being left to her by her late half-brother Julian Jerome (William DeVry). More recently, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) made a couple of stops in Ryan’s Bar while in New York City chasing down a lead on David Hopkins, (actor name not yet revealed) the pilot who was flying over General Hospital the day that Peter August (Wes Ramsey) disappeared. The whole Novak family on General Hospital now appears to be tied to the Novak family of Ryan’s Hope. Longtime Ryan’s Hope viewers will recall that the name “Novak” was shortened from “Novotny” as in Tiso Novotny, starting with Joe Novak. On General Hospital, the Novaks are one of the Five Families, and recently have been after Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) territory, with Sonny having been presumed and declared dead for several months now.

GH Spoilers And Rumors– Michael Pavel Jr Was More A Lover Than A Fighter, But Times Have Changed

Longtime viewers of General Hospital and Ryan’s Hope will recall that Michael Pavel, Jr. was more a lover than a fighter, and he actually outdid Michael E. Knight’s character on All My Children as far as being a cad! All My Children fans will remember Michael E. Knight, who now plays Martin Grey as “Tad The Cad” because of his many dalliances. Michael Pavel, Jr. was involved with a mother and a daughter at the same time, which was worse than Tad Martin ever did. Pavel, Jr. was never involved with the Novotny/Novak clan per se, although he certainly could have a death wish against them for Tiso’s shooting his father.

This new to General Hospital character, if Corbett does indeed reprise his old Ryan’s Hope character Michael Pavel, Jr., could either be an associate or an enemy of the Novaks out for revenge! In that case, he may align himself with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) to help bring the rest of the Novaks down forever! Or, there could be a rewrite of history and he could be aligned with the Novaks, possibly through marriage to a Novak female. The possible leak brings Michael Corbett to General Hospital sometime in the fall, so it may be a while before viewers find out. Time will tell!
