British Royal family news reveals “Finding Freedom” publishers shared on Monday new details of what anyone can expect in the upcoming book, especially the detailing of the tragedy and sense of loss Prince Harry and Meghan Markle experienced after the death of Prince Philip.
Prince Philip, Harry’s grandfather, passed away on April 9 at the age of 99, just a few months shy of his 100th birthday. “Finding Freedom” is a book that details in a softer light why the Sussexes left the palace, and how they made a life for themselves after stepping down from their roles as senior royals.
“Finding Freedom” Epilogue Details
The paperback edition of authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand’s biography focusing on the Sussex couple will be available on August 31 – the 24th anniversary of the death of Princess Diana, William and Harry’s mother.
“In the new epilogue, Scobie and Durand share behind the scenes of Harry and Meghan’s groundbreaking interview with Oprah [Winfrey], details behind the couple’s move to California, the various philanthropic and business endeavors the Sussexes have been involved with since their move and what’s to come with Archewell Productions,” HaperCollins shared in a recent press release.
The new updated version of the book is also said to feature the emotional distress Meghan Markle felt after a tragic miscarriage and the joy felt by the couple at Lilibet Diana’s arrival. It will also explore the couple’s continued persecution at the hands of the British press and their bid to maintain privacy in their lives.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle learned of Prince Philip’s death in their Montecito home, where they lived at the time with young Archie. Reportedly, Harry could not be contacted directly and had to be woken up by the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department in the middle of the night in order to learn the news.
Harry, 36, made the trip to the U.K. for the funeral solo as Meghan, 39, pregnant at the time, was advised not to travel due to being in her last trimester. It was the first time that Harry reunited with his family members after relocating to North America and after his bombshell sit-down with Oprah, 67.

Prince Harry’s Memoir To Reflect His Life So Far
Page Six revealed last week that Harry is working on an “intimate and heartfelt memoir” and promised that the book will give an “accurate and wholly truthful” account of his life. The book will reportedly hit the market before the end of 2022.
In a statement shared by the publishing house, Penguin Random House, Prince Harry said: “I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become.”
“I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story — the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned — I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a firsthand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful.”
In what is reported to be a four book multi-million dollar deal, Meghan and Harry will also pen a book on “leadership and philanthropy” as part of the deal. Keep checking Celebrating The Soaps for more Royal Family news and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle updates.
