Drew’s return from the dead has been a hot rumor ever since he disappeared in a jet crash over the ocean. Daytime vet Cameron Mathison (Ex Ryan Lavery, All My Children) has joined the cast of the ABC sudser and most savvy fans figure he’ll reprise the role of Sam’s love.

On the show’s Friday Cliffhanger Sam spent time reminiscing about Drew and these two share a daughter together, Scout Cain (Emma Ramacieri).

Sam will soon find a mysterious message and it appears that it will be about and/or from Drew. She is not sure what to make of the message and asks her good buddy Detective Falconeri for help.

Right now Sam has her hands full working with Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) to solve the Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) mystery so perhaps she doesn’t want to overtax him.

Did Drew survive the plane crash that was orchestrated by the also presumed dead Peter August (Wes Ramsey)? If he did that also raises all sorts of questions about Peter. Is it possible that Peter is still alive and somehow involved in the new plot about to go down?

It is intriguing to think that Peter could be redeemed by saving Drew. Peter needs a lot to be redeemed in many fans’ eyes, would bringing Drew Cain back to Port Charles be enough to accomplish that?

Right now Peter is thought to be dead after Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) pushed him and he fell resulting in no pulse and a pool of blood. But last week it was discovered that his corpse is missing from the GH subbasement. It had been stashed in a freezer and now there is no body and just a few drops of blood to hint at the possibility that he left or was carted off.
