General Hospital Comings and Goings: Patty McCormack To Play Monica Quartermine

General Hospital comings and goings reveal that there’s a cast shake-up going on in Port Charles right now. New reports indicate that legendary actress Patty McCormack will be joining the cast as the new Monica Quartermine. Actress Leslie Charleston has now been sidelined, due to a serious medical emergency.

Leslie will be out recovering after she suffered quite a bad tumble. Apparently, she had fallen after tripping on her dog Riley Rose at home and as a result, seriously injured her leg. General Hospital producers have made no comments about Leslie’s current status or how long she will be out for that matter.

It’s safe to say that Leslie won’t be coming back anytime soon, especially since Patty is now replacing her in front of the cameras. General Hospital films several weeks in advance, meaning that Leslie will be out for quite sometime.

In addition to General Hospital, Patty also has quite a few projects in the pipeline. She’s starring in a movie called Shortly to Go, Barking Mad and a remake of The Bad Seed. She’s also guest-starred on television series such as Stan Against Evil, The Garage Sale, Chance, and Atwill at Large. She was also on Scandal and Hart of Dixie.

Here’s hoping that Leslie has a speedy recovery. It’ll be interesting to see how fans will react to Patty taking over as the new Monica. Of course, viewers will just have to tune in to find out what will happen next!
