Hallmark Announces New Christmas Movie An Unexpected Christmas

Summer is officially over and as we head into fall, our minds are already turning to Christmas. To celebrate Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas, the channel has announced a brand new Christmas movie. Titled An Unexpected Christmas, the movie stars Bethany Joy Lenz and Tyler Hynes. Read on to find out everything we know so far about the festive film.

It’s almost time to curl up on the couch with plenty of eggnog and snacks to celebrate the Hallmark Channel’s Christmas lineup. As yet, we don’t have the full schedule for Countdown to Christmas. However the channel is gradually releasing news of the fabulous Christmas movies we will soon be able to watch.

Back in July, we reported that American Idol alum Jordin Sparks was set to star in A Christmas Treasure as part of the Countdown to Christmas programming event. Now, we have details of another film in the lineup. An Unexpected Christmas will also debut, starring two Hallmark favorites. One is Bethany Joy Lenz, who last year starred in Five Star Christmas and is known for her role in One Tree Hill.

The other is Tyler Hines, who recently appeared in It Was Always You, as well as Sweet Carolina and Roadhouse Romance. Keeping things festive, Tyler also starred in last year’s holiday film, On the 12th Date of Christmas.

What Is The Plot Of The Christmas Movie?

As noted by Futon Critic, the movie tells the story of Jamie (Hynes), who hasn’t yet told his family that he and his former girlfriend Emily (Lenz) have broken up. However, he accidentally bumps into Emily at the train station in his hometown. Jamie convinces Emily to pretend they are still a couple to avoid ruining the holidays for his family.

This leads to Jamie and Emily engaging in a week of his family’s holiday activities together. While this was supposed to be a ruse, it turns out the couple discovers their relationship could still have some potential. Naturally, this leads to an unexpected Christmas indeed!

Hallmark Channel – When Does An Unexpected Christmas premiere?

Currently, there is no news of the release date of An Unexpected Christmas. However, we do know the Countdown to Christmas festivities begin on October 22, just around the corner.
