Here’s Why Meghan Markle Won’t Be Meeting Donald Trump In London

She might be a member of the British royal family now, but Meghan Markle will always be a California girl at heart. But with that being said, it doesn’t look like she will have time in her schedule to meet with President Donald Trump when he visits Queen Elizabeth in London in the coming weeks.

As a matter of fact, there is a new report that suggests the Duchess of Sussex is actually relieved that she will be on her maternity leave, as that will give her an excuse not to visit with Donald Trump and his wife, First Lady Melania Trump.

As many fans can recall, Meghan wasn’t Donald Trump’s biggest fan before she married Prince Harry. She even went on the record to criticize the President several times in her media interviews. But now that she’s part of the royal family, Meghan can’t really speak her mind in the same way that she used to do. However, sources say that Meghan is feeling relived that the timing of her maternity leave gives her an excuse to stay home while Trump is in London.

Royal commentator Duncan Larcombe told Britain’s The Sun in an interview, “I’m told that there are no plans for Meghan to meet President Trump. Not as a snub because – how shall we say – it’s a quite convenient period of maternity leave so she won’t be working. The fact she’s on maternity leave obviously gives her an excuse.”

Now, that’s not to say that Meghan would have had to meet with President Trump and Melania Trump if it weren’t for her maternity leave. Just because she’s American, that doesn’t automatically mean that she has to meet each official or politician from the United States that visits Buckingham Palace.

So far the palace has not made any comments about the report, although at this point it’s safe to say that Meghan will be much happier hanging out with her new bundle of joy at home than anything else right now!
