William the Duke of Cambridge himself announced the travel news. He told People that he plans to give out the second round of his environmental prizes in the US. The awards are the Earthshot Prizes and the first round was handed out last week in London. Both Kate and William awarded the inaugural prizes meant to recognize efforts to improve the health of the planet.

“This is just the start,” he told the outlet. “I’m thrilled that in 2022, The Earthshot Prize will be heading to the United States, where we will continue to spread this vital message of urgency, optimism and action.”

He went on to say of the contest, “The urgency of the situation can’t be overstated. But through The Earthshot Prize, I want to show people across the world why there is reason to be hopeful.”

The lucky winners get a million dollars for their ideas, and the prizes will be handed out annually for ten years. If indeed the Cambridge’s come to the US in 2021, it will be their first time in America since a trip to New York in 2014.

The Cambridge’s have three children, Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte. Meghan and Harry have two kids, Lili and Archie. The royal runaways came to California in 2020 after deserting their posts as senior royals. Archie accompanied them, and their daughter Lilibet was born in June. It’s been reported that the tiny baby has not been introduced to any member of the royal family. Will this be her big chance to meet her aunt and uncle?

Since his desertion Prince Harry has visited the UK twice, and both times Meghan chose to stay home after dragging her in-laws on multiple platforms.
