British royal family news shows that Queen Elizabeth is not well enough to attend two important official events and public concern is growing. Last week she was hospitalized for an undisclosed ailment and that precluded her from a planned visit to Northern Ireland.
At the time it was rumored that the trip may have been cancelled for security reasons. But when news of her overnight hospital stay leaked, speculation faded. Now she has cancelled her attendance at Scotland’s November global climate conference and the speculation is swirling once again about her health status.
In addition to the drama surrounding this issue, the queen is in a quagmire on two other fronts, both scandals of her kin’s making.
Royal Family News – The Queen Is In A Quagmire
The first is her son Prince Andrew’s sex assault case. The court case will be held next summer with Andrew as the defendant. It is alleged that the Prince assaulted a then-underage victim named Virginia Giuffre on three occasions when she was 17. Prince Andrew denies the allegations.
Despite his denial, Prince Andrew has effectively been scrubbed from the royal roster. He is no longer allowed to represent Her Majesty in public and good luck finding mention of him on the royal’s social media accounts.
Then there is the ongoing matter of Prince Harry’s motor mouth. Also looming as a specter for next year, his famed memoir, covering all 30 of his some odd years, will drop in 2022.
Royal Family News – Harry Has A Memoir
If it is at all reflective of the spiteful and error filled interview Harry and Megan gave to Oprah Winfrey in March, the book will rock the monarchy, entertain the public, and further tarnish the thirsty pair’s reputation (what is left of whatever it once was).
Royal watchers have made it clear they expect the book to be a barn burner, a fiery condemnation of the family that Harry has thus far hinted at.

Next year is the queen’s Platinum Jubilee and both of these events threaten to darken if not completely overshadow the festivities. Royal expert Daniela Elser said, “There are two ferocious PR storms on the horizon.”
“Key dates for the Prince Andrew case, as it wends its way through the American legal system, are now set down for May, June and July next year, smack bang right when his mother will be celebrating her Platinum Jubilee.”
The Queen is the longest living, longest-reigning monarch in British history. She plans to celebrate her 70th year on the throne at Platinum Jubilee events in June.
