Royal Family News: BBC is Snubbed For ITV For Kate Middleton Christmas Carol Concert
British royal family news reveals that the royal family has apparently made good on their rumored snub of the BBC in light of their airing of a controversial documentary on the monarchy. The hubbub involved the two-part documentary “The Princes and the Press.” In short, the institution requested an advance view of the film, the BBC refused, and reports of a subsequently miffed monarchy immediately surfaced.
Now in what looks like a retaliatory snub to the British network, its competitor ITV has been chosen to air a Kate Middleton hosted Christmas carol concert service. Now we know who’s been naughty and who’s been nice in the royal family’s eyes?
Royal Family News – The Royals Are Miffed At The BBC?
Yesterday Kensington Palace issued a statement that ITV will broadcast the event but provided no details about the selection of ITV over the BBC.
Several reports indicate that the show was handed to ITV following the airing of the controversial docuseries that addressed the relationship of Prince William and Prince Harry with the media.

The production is being developed with BBC Studios Events Productions and sources allege it was originally meant to be broadcast by the network. The Evening Standard reported that sources at ITV claim the broadcast offer was made after “The Princes and the Press” aired.
“It was unusual for it to come to us this late,” one source told the outlet.
Last week three royal households joined together to issue a rare joint statement claiming the BBC aired, “overblown and unfounded claims,” in “The Princes and The Press.”

The concert takes place on Dec. 8 and aims to, “recognize and celebrate the incredible work of individuals and organizations across the nation who have stepped up to support their communities through the pandemic,” according to the palace.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared this message on social media: “The service, which will be broadcast in December, will look back on the past eighteen months, to think not only of the unprecedented challenges that we have all faced as we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, but also to remember the positives: people and organizations pulling together in their communities, the small acts of kindness across different demographics and generations, and the unsung heroes who stepped up to help others.”
