Zoe followed Xander Avant (Adain Bradley) from England to the United States. Hardcore fans recall that both characters retained their British accents until they agreed to drop them. That represented a writer’s room choice viewers were allowed to see on screen and was a nice wink to the audience.

Xander eventually felt betrayed by Zoe’s bowing to Thomas Forrester’s (Matthew Atkinson) intimidation, which regarded keeping the Beth Spencer (Madeline Valdez and River Davidson) secret and Emma Barber’s (Nia Sioux) linked demise.

The above eventually led to Zoe and Thomas becoming involved. But when Thomas’ humiliation of Zoe at their failed wedding ceremony included Carter officiating. Zarter formed soon thereafter.

Zende has fallen in love with Paris. His emotions are genuine. And de Metz’ character has proceeded with general caution in approaching what he considers to be the most important pursuit of his life.

Thomas began falling for Paris as well. But what seemed like a teased, rival couple was stopped by Paris politely declining Thomas’ offer to explore Phomas, Taris or whatever that never-explored duo would have been known as.

Zoe impulsively said yes to Carter after talking over the anticipated engagement offer with Zende. That scenario informed Zende and the viewers that Zarter was destined for trouble.

Unless a reveal happens, Paris has not been engaged or married before. So, Zende represents her deepest love and potential fiance.
