British royal family news divulges that fresh on the heels of an armed intruder breaching security at Windsor Castle on Christmas Day, members of the family are said to be upset at present day security arrangements.
According to a source who spoke to the Daily Mail, “senior royals are up in arms over the removal of some of their most trusted police bodyguards as part of a security shake-up.”
Royal Family News – The Royals Are Up In Arms
According to the source, William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall, have expressed concerns after the loss of longstanding personal protection officers. Queen Elizabeth is also alleged to be upset about the changes in staffing.
The changes were implemented after Scotland Yard reorganized security arrangements, allegedly at the bidding of, “high-flying Metropolitan Police Commander Helen Millichap, who is in charge of Protection Command. She is said to have ‘ruffled feathers’ with her determination to ‘open up’ the ranks of the team of specialist officers who guard VIPs, known as Royalty and Specialist Protection (RaSP).”

According to the outlet, Millichap, “has insisted that long-standing bodyguards – known as personal protection officers (PPOs) – are moved to other roles in order to open up the division and make it less ‘cliquey.’” It’s been reported that she thinks the, “role should not be seen as a job for life.”
The Royal Family receive around the clock protection and are said to be displeased with the rearrangement of protection officers. Apparently the royal family who depend upon the protection have little to no say in matters of their own safety but they are said to not be taking the enforcement laying down.

Royal Family News – The Queen Is Displeased
The source said, “Protection officers occupy very unique positions with MRFs [members of the Royal Family]. They are with them 24 hours a day and it understandably takes a long time to build up a good relationship of confidence and trust. Several very well-liked and respected officers have been moved on from their roles, not through any fault of their own.”
The source added, “Everyone is unhappy about it, not least some of the principals [royals]. There been a lot of changes in personnel, they have lost people they liked and valued. Some have made clear that they are really quite upset about it.”
