The Hallmark Channel wants to ensure that fans enjoy their famous movies throughout the year. As a result, Hallmark has begun working on the 2022 lineup for upcoming movies. But for those who think that all filming takes place in the channel’s California headquarters, we’ve got a surprise!
From London to Ohio, the Hallmark Channel has planned movies located around the world. Find out what’s ahead below. And spoiler alert: Ryan Paevey could star!
Hallmark Channel Films Overseas
London calling! The Hallmark Channel has begun work on “Christmas in London,” reports Heavy. After a delay in production, the overseas filming will occur early this year.
Ron Oliver wrote the script for the upcoming holiday film. Set to helm in London this month, Jonathan Wright has become known as one of Hallmark’s go-to directors. Wright previously directed “Christmas CEO” and “Christmas Next Door.”
Ron Oliver confirmed he penned the script for Hallmark's CHRISTMAS IN LONDON, set to start filming in January in the UK, but won't direct. Jonathan Wright (CHRISTMAS CEO, CHRISTMAS NEXT DOOR) will direct the movie, which is likely to be a marquee 2022 project for Hallmark. https://t.co/lOJ5ccafVC

On Twitter, Oliver confirmed that he penned the script. And while Ron won’t direct, he shared that he feels “very happy” to learn that Wright will helm “Christmas In London.” And we should note that according to IMDB, Oliver’s Hallmark Hall of Fame Christmas movies score among the highest rated in the network’s history. Nominated twice for the prestigious Director’s Guild of America Award, the nation of Sealand knighted Ron in 2019, making him Sir Ronald Robert Oliver OMS.
Hallmark Channel Films In Ohio: Ryan Paevey Stars?
Far away from London, Ohio marks the spot for yet another 2022 Hallmark Channel film project. The “Christmas Lonely Hearts Club” will get shot in Ohio. Lexi Giovagnoli serves as the director.
In addition to Ohio, the Hallmark Channel has chosen Tennessee as an ideal filming spot for a Christmas movie. We’ll look forward to the faith-based film, “It’s Christmas Again,” which will shoot in the state that’s taken “America At Its Best” as its motto. Sandra L. Martin penned the script.

As for the cast line-up for these movies, rumors have soared that Ryan Paevey will star in one or more of the holiday movies. That fan-fueled theory stems from the fact that Ron Oliver tagged Ryan in one of his social media posts about his Christmas film. “Sir Ronald apologizes for being incommunicado lately. When his muse strikes, it demands attention. #hallmarkchristmasmovies #inglesideinn #melvynspalmsprings #writersretreat #sirronaldoliver #sirryanpaevey #writersguildofamerica @ryanpaevey,” wrote the Hallmark screenwriter on Instagram.
Fans responded with enthusiasm. “Can’t wait to see what wonderful movie you’re writing now,” gushed one. “Just hope Ryan Paevey will be part of it. And another chimed in, “Gaaaah so excited to see what your amazing brain is cooking up!!”

Love Sir Ron and Sir Ryan ( is Kenny a Sir?). Especially when they work together. Could use at least 4 or more new movies with these guys— even with the delays due to network splits, please. Need more Ryan, more Ron, and of course- more Kenny.
Love the stories, the very very good acting…the chemistry, the comedy, and the angst… Really need this to happen. There is still time— from two weeks to four , please keep them coming to/for all of us.
