British royal family news shows that Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, is engaged in an ongoing sexual assault lawsuit brought against him by accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre. Could he have avoided the legal action against him if he had apologized to his accuser? That is exactly what sources close to Giuffre have alleged.
At this point in time Prince Andrew could be called to testify in a New York City courtroom after Giuffre brought a civil lawsuit against him. The plaintiff claims that Andrew had sex with her on three occasions while she was a minor. He has denied the accusation.
Royal Family News: Will Andrew Be Called Upon to Testify?
A source close to Giuffre told the New York Post, “Virginia has always just wanted the prince to acknowledge that he did something he shouldn’t have, she wants him to apologize. She has never made this all about money.” In contrast, the prince’s legal team claims that her lawsuit is motivated by money, a pay day of sorts.
The source added, “I think she would have dropped this a long, long time ago had the prince said he was guilty of wrongdoing, but he’s embroiled in denial which has brought him down.”
Royal Family News – Prince Andrew Conducted An Interview With the BBC
Years before the lawsuit was brought Andrew did a train wreck BBC interview in which he denied the allegations of sexual misconduct. His motivation was to clear his name but his words and actions during the interview served to indict him to many in the court of public opinion. It was said at the time that his own advisors counseled him not to do the interview, but he chose to proceed.
The insider’s comments come on the heels of Judge Lewis Kaplan deferring a major decision in the case, requested by Andrew’s legal team, until, “pretty soon.”
Prince Andrew’s lawyers had sought a decision which could have seen the case against Andrew dismissed. They argued on Tuesday that Andrew was, “protected by a settlement that his accuser signed in 2009,” with Andrew’s friend dead convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein according to the Daily Mail.

Royal Family News – Andrew Must Wait For A Legal Decision
Giuffre contends that Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted on similar charges last month, trafficked her as a minor to Andrew. Kaplan deferred to render a ruling, “but appeared to express skepticism at Andrew’s argument, questioning how a third party could enforce an agreement that it didn’t know about when it was signed.”
